Database management
Customer: one of the world's bigger exhibitions organizer.
Needs: the customer needed to manage the visitors database of three exhibitions:
- An international civil and industrial equipment exhibition;
- An international bathroom exhibition;
- Local leading information security event.
The exhibition organiser needed access data through a Web application to:
- Manage the database;
- Easily extract data from the archive/database;
- Develop/build statistical reports;
- Track activities on contacts.
Project: the project consisted in gathering of all the available sources of information (provided by the customer) and studying and developing the database on the basis of customer requirements/needs.
Database design consisted in:
- defining the LOVs
- integrating and de-dup of multiple sources
- certification of addresses and postal codes
- setting up tables and accounts to access the data.
The database is made up of four main tables:
- companies
- sites
- contacts table
- campaigns.
Through a Web application it is possible to access the data, look at statistical reports, run queries ad-hoc, track activities involving the contacts. The database is managed through lists integration as well as through data quality and data enhancement activities. On a regular basis data quality and certification activities are carried out.
The database is currently made up by +500,000 contacts.
Results: a Web application made possible to manage all marketing activities in an easy and more effective way.
